European financing schemes open to companies in the Cultural and Creative Industries – Review of the Infoday ICC event

The Infoday Cultural and Creative Industries event organized by Bpifrance with its partners and the French Touch took place this Wednesday, December 6, a morning of information around European financing schemes open to the Cultural and Creative Industries sector for startups, SMEs, ETI, large companies. The Horizon Europe, Creative Europe, Erasmus + 2024 and Enterprise Europe Network systems were presented.

 

Horizon Europe pillar 2

Horizon Europe is the European Union's framework program for research and innovation for the period from 2021 to 2027. The objective is in particular to strengthen the scientific and technological bases of the European Union while stimulating the science of excellence and European industrial competitiveness.

Pillar 2 of Horizon Europe aims to support applied research and more particularly international collaborative R&D projects, in 6 key areas:
• Culture, creativity and inclusive society;
• Digital, industry and space;
• Health ;
• Civil security for society;
• Food, bioeconomy, natural resources, agriculture and environment. ;
• Climate, mobility and mobility

What are the financing methods?
Horizon Europe funds international collaborative R&D projects lasting a minimum of 12 months and a maximum of 48 months. Depending on the type of project, grant funding can range from 60% to 100% of the total eligible costs of the project.

Creative Europe

This program aims to strengthen cultural diversity and respond to the challenges of the cultural, audiovisual and creative sectors through experimentation and transnational cooperation. Goals ? Challenge content from an intellectual property point of view, help with the adoption of innovative technologies, examine the audience.

Who is he talking to ?
– Any company in the cultural and creative sectors

What are the program’s flagship Calls for Projects?
- Call for Projects MEDIA Innovative Tools & Business Models : aimed in particular at players in the audiovisual and video games sectors, this call supports the development and/or dissemination of innovative tools and business models and can provide co-financing for up to 70% of the winning projects.
- Call for Trans-sector Projects Innovation Labs : supports the design, development and/or dissemination of tools, models or innovative solutions that meet new needs, are applicable to the audiovisual sector and other cultural and creative sectors and can co-finance up to 70% of the expenses of the winning project.
- Call for Trans-sector Media Literacy Projects : allows financing the development of initiatives in media education, encourages the sharing of knowledge.
- Call for Cross-Sector Projects Call for Cross-Sector Projects Journalism Partnership : supports collaboration between media, supports media and journalism relevant to democracy and civic participation.
- Call for Culture Cooperation projects : supports projects promoting the creation and circulation of works and artists in Europe and innovative approaches in the cultural and creative sectors.

Horizon Europe pillar 1

Attached to Pillar 1 of the European Union framework program, Horizon Europe, the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions work to support all types of research, from the most fundamental to the most applied, in all fields including the creative industries. They concern projects carried out by companies and the world of research.

Businesses, who should you partner with to benefit from this program?
• Young researchers
• Research and innovation personnel and/or networks of organizations wishing to develop a doctoral training program around a research project
• Research and innovation personnel and/or networks of organizations wishing to develop a research project via personnel exchanges
• Organizations funding or managing doctoral and/or postdoctoral programs

What do the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions ?
Depending on the type of project, these actions can take the form of:
– Doctoral training networks, with payment of the doctoral student’s remuneration;
– Individual grants for young researchers, including the remuneration of the young researcher;
– Exchanges of research and innovation personnel, with coverage of operating costs and travel expenses;
– Co-financing of training programs, up to 10 million euros/project;
– Scientific popularization activities, with funding of €50 to €000 for all events within the EU as part of the European Researchers' Night. This also includes all initiatives within the framework of “Researchers at school”).

Erasmus + 2024

Erasmus+ programs allow beneficiaries to improve their knowledge, skills and interpersonal skills from a social, civic and/or professional perspective, and aim to promote inclusion.

Who are they for?
– Employees, volunteers, learners.
– Stakeholders in higher education, school, vocational training and adult education

What financing is possible?
Depending on the type of project, the Erasmus + program can co-finance winning projects up to €400.

Enterprise Europe Network

With 3 experts present in more than 000 countries, it is the largest support network for European SMEs, located throughout the world. This program offers free support and provides access to new markets, personalized services (taxation, contracts, public procurement, intellectual property, regulations), assistance with European financing and the search for technological and commercial partners.
