The Innovation Lab call for the cross-sector component of the Creative Europe program supports European cooperation bringing together a diversity of expertise across the cultural, audiovisual and creative sectors. Its objective is to design and test innovative digital solutions on a European scale.

The Innovation Lab 2022 call aims to create a transfer of relevant technologies (blockchain, AI, big data, etc.) to the cultural/creative, audiovisual and media sectors, and to test its solutions on the European market.

This call for projects aims to improve and strengthen:

  • the competitiveness of the European audiovisual sector and other cultural and creative sectors through cross-sector collaboration
  • their ecological transition
  • the transfer of knowledge between these sectors
  • their business models and data usage
  • the visibility, availability, diversity and potential audience of European cultural and creative content in the digital age

A wide spectrum of organizations are invited to participate, including public and private entities, cultural, audiovisual and creative organizations, and more particularly new technology companies and startups. The participation of creative accelerators and incubators is also strongly encouraged. A consortium of organizations must be composed of at least 3 entities representing at least 2 countries different from the Creative Europe programme.

This year the two priority themes are:

  1. The ecological transition of the cultural, audiovisual and creative sectors;
  2. Innovative educational tools to address relevant social issues such as the fight against disinformation and fake news.

Projects can focus in particular on:

  • Rights management and monetization, to ensure transparency and fair compensation for creators and artists;
  • Data collection and analysis, with a particular focus on forecasting for content creation and audience development.

Creative Europe Offices in 16 countries will offer a transnational project pitch session, in English, the Monday, June 20, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  1 project will be presented per country.
