Ardavan Safaee

Producing, distributing, marketing and exporting films, in France and around the world, is Ardavan Safaee's mission. Passionate about cinema, he went through several structures such as Elzevir Films or Bonne Pioche and even created his own production company with actor Grégoire Colin, before joining Pathé Films in 2015. In a few years, he became general manager. then president in 2019. This ambassador of La French Touch was present at the event We are French Touch to talk about the three avenues explored by Pathé Films in order to recreate a powerful cinema model in France and around the world.

1- Take more risks

« To go higher, to take more risks, to make even bigger films, always turned towards the international. Movies like: Eiffel released not long ago, which made great entrances in France and sold all over the world. Notre Dame is burning by Jean-Jacques Ring, Asterix, The three MusketeersEtc. »

2- Attract talent

« We make our own agreements with the talents. We don't have the same means as the Americans, but we have our own French Touch: a rapid decision-making process characteristic of family businesses. We are able to recreate a family, a home for them. In a world where the algorithm is king, reconnecting with talent is very important to us. »

3- Federate the creative industries

"Notre Dame is burning, by Jean-Jacques Anneau, is the subject of an augmented reality experience, in collaboration with our friends at Ubisoft. It may be an idea for tomorrow, to join forces to create a new French identity, a new internationally-oriented protection system and new actors while maintaining very strong economic autonomy. »
