Future On Stage January 2023

Supporting young innovative companies in the fields of decoration, design and the Art de vivre, such is the mission of Future On Stage. This competition is organized by Maison&Objet, the Parisian deco-design fair which brings together all the actors of the house twice a year (brands, designers, craftsmen, and experts). The reward ? The three winners will be offered by the organizer a stand for the September 2023 edition of the show.
An opportunity to boost its visibility and get people talking about its invention with a qualified audience. A highly coveted prize for young professionals: “ We are lucky to have been selected for Future On Stage! Maison&Objet is one of the most important trade fairs in the interior design and design sector, and participating is a way for us to reach a large but qualified audience. “says one of the co-founders of the Breton start-up Gwilen.

Gwilen, the 100% marine construction material from Brittany

Designed to be inspired and cared for by nature, Gwilen owes its name to the Breton river La Vilaine. Yann Santerre and his partner Mathieu Cabannes, both architects-engineers, imagine in 2020 recovering the sediments of this river " which has been silting up since the 70s following the construction of a dam to transform them into sustainable building materials for the construction industry. " We are the first to offer 100% mineral and 100% marine construction products made from materials that are currently not recovered. », affirms Yann Santerre, aware of the ecological problems linked to the construction industry.

From the transformation of sediments to dyeing through their solidification, without adding resin or cement, the founders intend to commercially launch their products for interior wall application thanks to Future On Stage. After two participations in the 2020 and 2021 editions of Paris Design Week, Gwilen aims to " propose solutions in harmony with nature » and and aims to raise funds for the end of 2023 in order to finance the industrialization phase of its project.

Noppi, the developer of an intimate modular space

While Alexandre Guyenne, works engineer, experiments with the joys of living in an apartment, noise becomes an omnipresent source of annoyance for him. From this observation arises nopi, in 2020. A way for the founder to facilitate access to moments of calm via furniture already present inside. To rest his mind during the phases of work, concentration or relaxation, he imagines, alongside the designer Gaël Hiétin, the deployable acoustic armchair Orri, entirely made in France. " We reinterpret types of furniture present in shared spaces to give them the ability to transform into calmer, more intimate sub-spaces. This approach is our uniqueness and also the basis of our innovation. », Analyzes Alexandre Guyenne.

Currently seeking funding to accelerate the marketing of its products (the Orri armchair and the Wrapp armchair) internationally, Noppi has already won over the jury with its future creation. " The demand exists, the field of possibilities is vast, we are moving forward with envy! enthuses the engineer.

SAS Minimum, the paving stone fed up with recycled plastic

Third and last winner of this edition of Future on stage: SAS Minimum. After working on a student project in Africa, four students from the Versailles school of architecture wonder about the design of materials made from plastic. Marius Hamelot and his comrades decided to recover, grind and then assemble this abundantly polluting and ubiquitous waste to give birth to Pavé®. " At SAS Minimum, we capitalize on litter and reduce landfill. The final product must be made from 100% garbage with no added resin and show it “, explained the founder to New Factory last year.

Usable as a wall covering, work surface or furniture, this new unique, waterproof and resistant material can be adapted and declined to infinity. Already well established in France, the French start-up is counting on this competition launched by Maison&Objet to publicize its new products. " Our priority remains plastic and our desire to capitalize on existing resources to reinvent new forms of materiality in their own territories. », commented the architect.
