37,9%. That's what animation represents in the total international sales of French audiovisual programs . A talent that travels well and delights audiences of all ages around the world. And among these players is TAT Productions , founded in 2000 by Jean-François Tosti, David Alaux, and Eric Tosti. This Toulouse-based company comprises a production company and a studio specializing in 3D animation for television and film.

We have a childhood passion for animation, thanks in particular to films like Jason and the Argonauts and The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, which feature numerous special effects ,” explains Jean-François Tosti. “ We started out as amateurs/semi-professionals, and then one day we decided to set up our own company to develop our own projects in Toulouse .” Since then, TAT Productions has grown from three employees at its inception (the co-founders) to 300 people today.

TAT Productions, a studio supported by Bpifrance and French Touch

If the company has been able to continue to transform itself in recent years, it is also thanks to Bpifrance, which has been supporting it for more than ten years, and in particular through Charline Hervagault, business financing manager and member of the regional management of Toulouse at Bpifrance: " They approached us when they were expanding the premises and therefore had investments to make to fit them out ."

To meet this demand, the bank offered the three founders of TAT Productions a financing solution: the Touch Loan. " This loan is specifically designed for the cultural and creative industries ," the bank stated. According to the business development manager at the bank, the company greatly appreciated the program.

An internationally renowned animation studio: a collective success

Through this evolution, TAT Productions has been able to surround itself with competent people like Claire Bataille, an animator who, according to her, is responsible for " conveying emotions through movement ." " I work on character development," she continues. "I ask myself who they are, what their personalities are, and so on. All of this will influence how they move, as well as their physique and their different sizes ."

All these details contributed to TAT Productions winning an Emmy Award for its film 'The Jungle Bunch'. " During the ceremony, we had no idea we had a chance of winning ," explains Jean-François Tosti, co-founder of the company. " When they announced 'The Winner is… The Jungle Bunch!' it was a truly unforgettable feeling ." While the co-founders took home the award, Jean-François Tosti knows it was thanks to their collective effort that they achieved this recognition. " Above all, it remains a collective victory ."
