The growing French audiobook market is entering a new chapter

In one year, digital audio books have won 800 new followers. Valérie Lévy-Soussan, CEO of Audiolib, deciphers this trend and shares her vision for the future of the sector.

One in five French people are fans of audiobooks. This is what the 12th survey on book usage, published in April 2022 by the French Society of the Interests of Written Authors (Sofia), the National Publishing Union (SNE) and the Society of People of Letters (SGDL), reveals. According to this barometer, France will have 2022 million audio readers in 9,9. Valérie Lévy-Soussan, CEO ofAudiolib - a subsidiary of Hachette Livre and Albin Michel launched in 2008 - and chair of the SNE “audio book” commission, analyzes the results of this study for us.
