Plan Touch: what assessment two years after its launch?

The French Touch at the Elysée

Launched in 2020, the Touch plan operated by Bpifrance is already showing very good results. Today, we take stock of this mobilization with Emilie Beckmann, co-pilot of the Touch plan at Bpifrance.

« The cultural and creative industries (CCI) are a priority for Bpifrance. “Clams Emilie Beckmann straight away. From fashion to music, via the audiovisual sector, the arts, video games and even publishing, CCIs represent 5% of French GDP and 1,7 million jobs. These sectors, which are essential to our economy, are faced with multiple challenges such as internationalization, energy and ecological transition and digitalization. To help them meet these challenges, Bpifrance adopted a Touch plan in 2020, which is based on a continuum of financing and support dedicated to the creative industries.

2,7 billion euros mobilized for La French Touch in 2020-2021

« The figures speak for themselves, says the co-pilot of the plan dedicated to La French Touch companies. For two years now, more than two and a half billion euros have been mobilized in the service of the CCIs ". After deploying nearly 1,5 billion euros in 2020, Bpifrance mobilized 1,3 billion euros in 2021 for La French Touch, in synergy and complementarity with the entire ecosystem (State, regions, professional federations, etc.).
Added to this sum are numerous initiatives such as the definition of creative innovation, the launch of three dedicated sectoral accelerators (audiovisual cinema accelerator, video game accelerator and the fashion and luxury accelerator), the multiplication of international missions to concretize the influence of La French Touch internationally (e.g.: SAKS mission, French mission Touch Dubai, etc. or the acceleration of equity investments (54 million euros invested in 2021 in 16 operations).

An increasingly visible orange rooster

« Besides that, we have the ambition to facilitate the creation of a movement: the community of La French Touch “, explains Emilie Beckmann. Embodied by an orange rooster, this community is built around a network of passionate entrepreneurs representing the diversity of the sectors that make it up. " We surrounded ourselves with about fifteen ambassadors and we worked with them to build this movement “, adds the co-pilot of the Touch plan. Carrying transversality, values ​​of excellence and creative freedom, this first circle is intended to expand in order to build the CCIs of tomorrow " Now that this movement has well-established bases, the idea is to make it grow, to go from 15 ambassadors to 50, 100, 500 ».
For this, events such as Le French Touch Tour, the startup Challenge at Vivatechnology, or even the Big 7 have marked the year 2021. With the high point: We are French Touch (WAFT), the 1st event dedicated to the influence of CCIs in France. Bringing together the entire Orange Rooster community, WAFT brought together 280 speakers and 2 visitors, not to mention the 700 participants in online conferences, in order to showcase the entire ecosystem of French CCIs and promote their cross-functionality. .
